New East Village Tryon Map Guide Now Available

The first East Village Tryon Map Guide has been published by BnESCO.  But, be warned, this three-fold vicinity map guide is not your usual community map.  "There is no one way to use this map guide. Jump-in and explore" explains the text on map's back panel.  And explore you will - from reading it to walking it.  This map is a collection of recycled words and images from newspapers, the NAACP, The Crisis and an old manual typewriter.  The map guide is a collage of letters, words and images reassembled to reflect the rich tapestry of the East Village Tryon.  It celebrates African American History and Culture and encouraged inquiry-based, hands on exploration.  Part of BnESCO Project Progressivism North Carolina New Routes, it encourages supporting black owned enterprises and businesses.  The Road to Greatness Community map guide reminds us that not all who wander and lost.  The East Village Tryon Road to Greatness Community Tour Map Guide is available for a suggested donation of $1.00 at retailers in Tryon, NC.  It includes directions to: The Hannon Barbershop, the Tryon Municipal Cemetery and the Nina Simone Birthplace.  All proceeds from the sale of the map guide support BnESCO.
